Affiliated Organizations

• American Psychological Foundation
  Provides financial support for innovative research and programs that enhance the power of psychology to elevate the human condition and advance human potential both now and in generations to come.

• APA Insurance Trust
  Provides financial security programs for the members of the APA and other affiliated individuals as well as risk management and other consultative services. Offerings include many types of insurance: liability, business office, term life and long term care.

• Ethnic Minority Psychological Associations
  These associations support ethnic minority psychologists and advocate for the unique needs of Native Americans, Asian Americans, African Americans, and Latinas and Latinos.

Advocacy

• APA Practice Organization
  Promotes the professional interests of practicing psychologists in all settings through a wide range of activities, including legislative and legal advocacy on behalf of practitioners and public education campaigns to communicate the value of psychology to the public. The APAPO area includes practice management resources and HIPAA compliance tools.

• Education Advocacy Trust 
  Promotes the mutual professional interests of education and training psychologists through fund raising and other political activities. The Trust works with the Association for the Advancement of Psychology (AAP) to support Members of Congress or federal candidates who champion legislative initiatives that increase federal support (funding) for psychology education and training.

  US and Canadian Associations that advance psychology at the state and provincial level.

• Regional Psychological Assocations
  Regional Psychological Associations enable psychologists and students to share knowledge, develop professional networks, and improve skills primarily through their local, annual conventions.

  A worldwide directory maintained by APA’s International Affairs Office.

Honor Societies

• Psi Chi: The International Honor Society in Psychology
  Provides academic recognition to its inductees and fosters their creative and professional development. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate students or faculty who meet the selection criteria.

• Psi Beta: The National Honor Society in Psychology for Community and Junior Colleges
  Provides professional development opportunities for psychology students of community and junior colleges by promoting and recognizing excellence in scholarship, leadership, research and community service.
