Nancy Gordon Moore, PhD, MBA
APA's Executive Director of Governance Affairs
Nancy Gordon Moore, PhD, MBA, was named executive director of Governance Affairs for the American Psychological Association in 2009. She oversees the Office of the President, APA's Board and Committee Operations, Elections, Division Services and the Convention and Travel offices.
Moore joined the staff of APA after serving since 2000 as executive director of the Kentucky Psychological Association. During her tenure at KPA, the organization doubled its membership and more than doubled its revenue. She also developed a public art and public education project called "Heads Up Kentucky!" that promoted the connection between physical and mental health.
Earlier in her career, Moore had a private practice in Louisville.
Moore served on APA's Committee for the Advancement of Professional Practice from 2007 to 2009. She served as chair of the Council of Executives of State and Provincial Psychological Associations in 2005 and was a member of the Committee of State Leaders in 2006. She is a fellow of APA.
Moore is an adjunct professor in the department of psychological and brain sciences at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where she also earned her doctorate in clinical psychology and an MBA in entrepreneurial thinking.
