This award recognizes a graduate psychology department that has exemplified an outstanding level of commitment towards graduate students and graduate student life.

Description

This $1,500 cash award (to be used at the department's discretion to further benefit students) recognizes superior assistance and attention to students' needs, as well as excellent faculty-student relations. The chair and student representative of the winning department will be awarded an engraved plaque.

Eligibility

Previous winning departments are not eligible to apply for this award for five years.

How to Apply

Required Materials

At least one APAGS member and his/her Department Chair must collaborate on letter (not to exceed three pages, single-spaced) describing departmental/faculty efforts to meet the needs of students and improve graduate student life.
A brief summary of information about the department, including degrees offered, number of faculty, students, and approximate number of APA and APAGS members (not to exceed three pages, single-spaced).

If you are not an APAGS member at the time of submission, you may send a copy of the receipt you get when you join APAGS/APA electronically as proof of membership.

You may submit materials electronically or by mail. Application materials must be submitted by 11:59 a.m. ET on the day of the deadline.

If you apply earlier than 1 week of the deadline, you may expect to receive that email confirmation within 1 week of your submission. If you do not hear from APAGS after that time frame, please contact APAGS to confirm that your application has been received.
