Daniel E. Berlyne Award

This award recognizes outstanding research by a junior scholar.

Description

The division presents the Berlyne Award in recognition of outstanding research by an early career scholar. The award is named in honor of Daniel E. Berlyne, who served as president of Division 10 from 1974-75. Berlyne was well known for his research on the psychology of aesthetics.

The award carries a stipend of $500 and the recipient will be invited to present his/her paper at the APA Annual Conference.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for this award nominees must have received their PhD within the last 10 years.

Required Materials
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation 

  • Nominee's current vita

  • 1-2 representative publications 

Note. All nominations must include required submission materials (described above) and received by no later than Dec. 1, 2013. Late or incomplete nominations will not be evaluated. Also, when nominating a student or colleague, please be sure to inform them of the nomination as they will be honored at the APA convention and are expected to attend.
