The Division of Military Psychology (Division 19) of the American Psychological Association sponsors an annual competition for Military Psychology Student Travel Awards. The purpose of the Travel Award program is to help students interested in military psychology travel to the annual APA Convention to present their research. The division will award $750 travel awards to graduate/undergraduate students presenting paper/posters in Division 19. Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. All application materials must be submitted no later than May 1, 2012.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled in good standing, in a graduate/undergraduate program in psychology.
Applicants must be student affiliates of Division 19. Students who are not affiliates must apply for affiliation online prior to submitting materials for this Award; the Military Psychology Research Grant Committee must receive all materials in a complete pdf formatted package.
Only students with papers/posters accepted by Division 19 will be considered. Multiple author submissions are acceptable, but the student applicant must be designated as the first author of the paper/poster. If there are multiple student authors, only the first author may apply for these funds. If the student-applicant has been accepted to present more than one paper or poster, he/she must choose only one paper/poster presentation for consideration when applying for this award.
How to Apply
Student Awards Committee will examine all applications for eligibility.
A. 1-page maximum typed cover letter describing your research interests and experience, as well as career plans.
B. 2-page maximum Curriculum Vitae including scientific publications and presentations.
The application form and the additional materials listed above must be scanned into one pdf document and emailed to the student representative for submission. Each applicant should keep a copy of the submitted materials.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Funds will be provided directly to the students following the announcement of the award recipients in order to ensure the funds are received prior to the annual convention date.
Each recipient is required to attend the Division 19 Business Meeting at APA to be formally presented the award.
