Theodore Sarbin Award

This award recognizes a body of work by a psychologist which demonstrates achievements in one of the areas that Theodore Sarbin contributed to.

Description

The Theodore Sarbin Award is intended to honor a specific body of work by an individual psychologist which demonstrates notable achievement in one or more of the fields to which Theodore Sarbin has contributed.

These include:

• Narrative psychology
• Contextualist theory
• Social psychological theories of hypnosis
• Other innovative theoretical work that is 'critical' in the broad sense of the term

Eligibility

The recipient is selected by a rotating panel of three judges. Each judge serves a three-year term, with the most senior judge each year serving as Chair. Each year, a new judge (to replace the outgoing one) is chosen by the current judges and approved by the President of Division 24.
