The Social Issues Dissertation Award recognizes doctoral dissertations in psychology (or in a social science with psychological subject matter) that best demonstrate scientific excellence and potential application to social problems. A first prize of $750 and a second prize of $500 will be award.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for this award an applicant may only submit one paper to one SPSSI paper award per award year (July 1-June 30). This includes the Allport, Klineberg, and Dissertation Awards.
How to Apply
Applications should include:
• A cover sheet with the title of the dissertation, your name, postal, and email address, phone number, and university granting the degree.
• A 500-word summary of the dissertation. This should include the title, rationale, methods, and results of the dissertation, as well as its implications for social problems.
For hard copy submissions please send four complete packets of required material to:
