Deborah Partridge Wolfe International Fellowship (Graduate)

The purpose of this fellowship is to provide financial assistance for African American women graduate students studying abroad, and/or graduate foreign students studying within the U.S.

Description

The Deborah Partridge Wolfe International Fellowship is available to graduate United States students studying abroad and/or graduate foreign students studying within.

The fellowship is awarded for full-time study for one academic year (fall-spring). Amount varies from $500 to $1,000 paid directly to recipient.

Eligibility
Applicant must be an African American woman student interested in pursuing undergraduate or graduate study abroad. Applicant need not be a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Funds are also available for foreign students who wish to study in the United States.

Requests for copies of the scholarship application form are only accepted Sept. 1-Dec. 15. Such requests should be clearly marked on the bottom left corner of the envelope with “NEP-AR.”
Applications must include:
  • Three letters of recommendation to include:

    1. College professor or high school teacher
    2. Minister or community leader.
    3. Other.
    *For Zetas only: The third reference must be from the graduate Zeta Chapter signed by the Basileus or Advisor.
  • An official university/high school transcript.

  • An essay of 150 words or more. Include information about yourself, your educational goals and professional
    aspirations. How can this award help you to achieve these goals? Why should you receive this award?

Submission:

Application materials should be stapled together in the following order:

  1. Completed application.

  2. Transcript.

  3. Letters of recommendation.

  4. Essay.

On the front of the envelope, in the bottom left corner, indicate the name of the scholarship for which you are applying. A separate application and duplicate documents must be submitted when applying for multiple awards.

Applications are accepted between Sept. 1 and Feb. 1, preceding the academic year. Applications must be received no later than Feb. 1. Award recipients, only, will be notified, no later than Aug. 15.
