The Joseph Collins Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships for medical students who intend to specialize in neurology, psychiatry, or general practice, and who demonstrate an interest in cultural pursuits (art, music, theater, writing, etc.) outside of medicine.
Award amounts are generally up to $10,000 per year and are renewable with the recommendation of the Pritzker School of Medicine and the approval of the Joseph Collins Foundation.
Scholarships are awarded to medical students in their second, third, or fourth year who are in the top half of their class and intend to specialize in neurology, psychiatry, or general practice. They also should demonstrate interest in cultural pursuits (art, music, theater, writing, etc.) outside of medicine, candidates must also demonstrate financial need and give evidence of good moral character. Residence within 200 miles of the medical school is preferred.
