Lewis' Educational & Research Collaborative Internship Project: NASA Scholarship Project
Internships of a 10-week duration are available during the summer months at the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center (GRC). The internships are offered under the auspices of Lewis’ Educational and Research Collaborative Internship Program (LERCIP) and is a collaborative undertaking of GRC’s Educational Programs Office (EPO) and the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI). The LERCIP Scholars’ component offers opportunities for college sophomores through Ph.D candidates. Interns receive a biweekly salary for their appointments. The amount of salary depends on the academic standing achieved by the student at the time tenure begins. Refer to the LERCIP Scholar application for specific details about salary, travel reimbursement and housing information.
Internships are available only to U.S. citizens who are full-time students pursuing a baccalaureate or higher degree in a field of science, engineering, technology, and professional administration at an accredited college or university throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. College-bound graduates or 2-year college students with demonstrable plans to pursue baccalaureate degrees are also eligible. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Selection in this program is very competitive and is based on the following: NASA Glenn organizational, budgetary and programmatic commitments; academic level and relative coursework; performance background and research interests; student/Mentor availability.
