Apply for APAGS 2006 Scholarships and Awards

APAGS is now accepting applications for its 2006 scholarships, grants and awards, which recognizes students and those who support them for excellence in several areas such as working with underserved populations or researching diversity.

To be eligible to apply or nominate a candidate, graduate students must be enrolled in good standing at least part time at a regionally accredited university. Get Ready for the 2006 APA Convention

APAGS has developed another slate of excellent programs and social activities for students attending the APA annual convention in New Orleans (August 10-13, 2006). Programs cover topics such as internship preparation, mentoring, self-care, dissertations, building a practice, licensure and certification, practicum, diversity issues, and navigating the convention, just to name a few. Run for an APAGS Committee Position

Develop leadership skills, represent student colleagues and advocate nationally for psychology by serving in an elected position on the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) Committee. The following elected positions are open: Chair-elect; Member-at-Large, Diversity Focus; Member-at-Large, Membership Recruitment and Retention Focus; and Member-at-Large, Practice Focus.

APAGS is also accepting applications for the following subcommittee chair positions: Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs (CEMA), Chair; and the Committee for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns (CLGBTC), Chair.

Students: Vote for APAGS Leaders

The ballot period for the 2006 APAGS elections will take place March 27-April 28. During the ballot period, APAGS members can read candidate statements and vote online at the APAGS website: www.apa.org/apags. APAGS encourages all members to vote!
