Get Ready for the 2006 APA Convention

APAGS has developed another slate of excellent programs and social activities for students attending the APA annual convention in New Orleans (August 10-13, 2006). Programs cover topics such as internship preparation, mentoring, self-care, dissertations, building a practice, licensure and certification, practicum, diversity issues, and navigating the convention, just to name a few. Learn to Navigate the Internship Application Process

APAGS will host a pre-convention internship workshop on August 9 in New Orleans prior to APA's 2006 Convention. The workshop will offer students tips on finding a psychology internship and guidance on the application and Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) Match process. Participants will receive a free copy of "Internships in Psychology: The APAGS Workbook for Writing Successful Applications and Finding the Right Match" (APA, 2004). Registration costs $25 for APAGS members and $30 for nonmembers. Registration after July 15 is $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers. APAGS Call for Applications – CoA and ACCA

APAGS is seeking applications from APAGS members to serve a one-year term on the APA Committee on Accreditation (CoA) beginning in January 2007. APAGS is also seeking applications from APAGS members to serve a two-year term as the APAGS Liaison to the Advisory Committee on Colleague Assistance (ACCA) beginning this fall. APAGS is currently accepting applications for members of the following three subcommittees: APAGS Convention Committee, APAGS Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns (CLGBTC), APAGS Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs (CEMA).
