Free Accreditation Workshops at the APA Convention
The Commission on Accreditation (CoA) will be conducting concurrent full day (8:30am-5:00pm) Doctoral and Internship/Postdoctoral Site Visitor Training Workshops on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 prior to the APA Annual Convention in Boston, MA. These workshops are open to both new site visitors and experienced site visitors. Participants in these full-day workshops receive 7.5 CE credits, and the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation pays the CE fees for each participant.
There is especially a need in the site visitor pool for generalists (psychologists in areas other than clinical, counseling, and school), as well as those familiar with postdoctoral residency programs. The CoA makes a special effort to ensure diversity among site visitors and strongly encourages the nomination of women and members of underrepresented groups.
A half-day (1:00pm-5:00pm) Site Visitor Chair Workshop (no CE credits) will also be offered on the same day for current site visitors interested in learning more about the responsibilities involved in being the chair of a site visit team. Current site visitors who are chair-eligible, based on participation in 3 or more visits, are encouraged to attend.
