Scientific Research Award
This award is given to a person who has distinguished him/herself in advancing Psychoanalysis through original research that addresses key questions related to the psychoanalytic enterprise. Research interests include but are not limited to diagnosis, treatment, clinical process and clarification of psychoanalytic theory and concepts.
Scholarship Award
This award is given to a pereson who has made significant contributions to Psychoanalysis through his/her writings. These include advances in psychoanalytic conceptualizations, theory and/or clinical practice.
Leadership Award
This award is given to a person who has dedicated him/herself to the advancement of Psychoanalysis and/or by service to Division 39
Awardee receives: a certificate. Awardees for the Scientific and Scholarship Awards present an original paper at the Spring Meeting of the Division.
Eligibility Requirements: outstanding contribution to Psychoanalysis
Nomination Process: Nominees are solicited from the membership, evaluated by the Awards Committee and presented to the Division Board which makes the final determination of recipients
