Division 7: Developmental Psychology promotes research in the field of developmental psychology and high standards in the application of scientific knowledge to educational, child care, policy, and related settings. The Division selects recipients for the following awards: Award for Distinguished Contributions to Developmental Psychology for senior scholars, Urie Bronfenbrenner Award for lifetime contribution to developmental psychology, Mavis Hetherington and Mary Ainsworth Awards for mid-career developmentalists, the Boyd R. McCandless for young developmental psychologists, the Early Career Outstanding Paper Award for early career psychologists, the Outstanding Dissertation Award for new PhDs, Eleanor Maccoby Book Award, and the Mentor Award in Developmental Psychology. Division 7 also offers two research grants: one for dissertation research and one for early-career research. The newsletter Developmental Psychology is published twice a year.
