Leadership Academy aimed to inspire, recruit division leaders

Dr. Barry Chung, President of Division 17, the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP), has initiated a presidential project which will include a Leadership Academy

The purpose of the Academy is to inspire, recruit,  and develop future leaders for the profession of Counseling Psychology.

Counseling Psychology students and early career professionals in Counseling Psychology (seven years or less since the awarding of the doctoral degree) who are interested and committed to leadership in SCP are eligible to apply for the Academy.  Those chosen to be participants in the Academy will attend a leadership training program and work with a mentor to complete a project which will be presented at the 2012 APA Convention in Orlando.

The energetic and positive response thus far to the Academy suggests this project is meeting an important need and will be helpful in bringing more students and early career professionals into SCP.

Detailed information about the Academy, and how to apply can be found on the SCP website.
