Chad RummelCongratulations to Chad Rummel, who will assume the position of executive director of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP, Div. 8), leaving APA on Nov. 15.

Chad began as communications and meetings manager in the Division Services Office in June 2011. In this role, he has worked as staff liaison to the Committee on Division/APA Relations (CODAPAR), including planning the Division Leadership Conference set for January 2014. He has been serving as a part-time executive director for Div. 13 (Society of Consulting Psychology), Div. 28 (Psychologists in Public Service) and Div. 44 (Society for the Psychological Study of LGBT Issues), working with the divisions on many of the day-to-day responsibilities of running these organizations.

Chad has also been account manager for several divisions and has been editor of the Division Dialogue until recently. He has made major accomplishments in the area of meeting planning for divisions in our office, growing the Div. 13 conference and helping to create the annual joint conference of divisions 28 and 50 (Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse; Society of Addiction Psychology).

Chad will be working with SPSP in the coming year to further the society’s initiatives and create a central office structure in Washington, D.C.

We are very sorry to see Chad go but very excited for him and know he will do a great job. We are all lucky to get to continue to work with him in his new role. Please join us in wishing him all the best.
