Boards and Committees Reporting Directly to the Council of Representatives
Board of Directors
The Board is composed of six members-at-large and six officers — the president-elect, president, past-president, treasurer, recording secretary and CEO. The chair of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) serves as an additional member. Much like any corporate board, it oversees the association’s administrative affairs, and, with the advice and assistance of the Finance Committee, presents an annual budget for Council approval.Committee on Structure and Function of Council
Receives, reviews and initiates recommendations, suggestions and complaints about Council functions and operations and maintains rules adopted by the Council.Policy and Planning Board
Considers current and long-range policy and reviews the structure and function of APA as a whole.
Standing Boards and Committees
Standing boards and committees are established by the APA Bylaws and report to Council through the Board of Directors.
Continuing Committees
Continuing committees are established by the Council of Representatives and are described in the Association Rules.
