Presidential Election Results

APA’s president is directly elected by the entire membership, and chairs both the Council of Representatives and the Board of Directors. During his or her term of office, the president performs such duties as are prescribed in the Bylaws, as are incident to the office, or as may properly be required of the president by vote of council or the Board of Directors.


Anton is elected 2014 president-elect

Barry S. Anton, PhDBarry S. Anton, PhD, was elected APA’s president for 2015 in the 2013 president-elect election. The election ballot was sent to all eligible voters on Sept. 16, 2013. The ballots were counted by Intelliscan, Inc. and the Election Committee certified the election Nov. 5, 2013. The candidates are listed in the order of finish:

  • Barry S. Anton, PhD — 6,685 votes
  • Steven J. Reisner, PhD — 4,858 votes
  • Kurt F. Geisinger, PhD — 3,047 votes
  • Rodney L. Lowman, PhD — 2,154 votes
  • Jeffrey J. Magnavita, PhD — 1,039 votes
