APA joins numerous organizations in asking congress to support family caregivers
APA signed on to a May 2 letter urging Congress to support critical aging and caregiving programs in its spending plan for the 2013 federal fiscal year (FY 13). Specific requests included:
The Lifespan Respite Care Program at $5 million;
The National Family Caregiver Support Program at $154 million; and
The Native American Caregiver Support Program at $6 million.
Letters were sent to the chairmen and ranking members of the House and Senate Labor-Health and Human Services-Education Appropriations Subcommittees.
