PI-GRO Briefs Participants at Women and Disabilities Conference

On Monday, October 17th, staff of APA’s Public Interest Government Relations Office (PI-GRO) presented information about psychology and advocacy at the first ever conference on “Inequity to Equity: Promoting Health and Wellness of Women with Disabilities.” The presentation, entitled, “Using Public Policy to Promote the Health and Well-Being of Women with Disabilities,” highlighted:

• Key success and challenges from the disability and women’s rights movements;
• Recent and ongoing policy efforts at APA related to women with disabilities; and
• Opportunities for psychologists and other professionals to engage in the public policy process.
