APA supports employment nondiscrimination efforts for sexual minorities
As part of a broad coalition effort, APA distributed a legislative action alert on behalf of H.R. 1397 and S. 811, the Employment Nondiscrimination Act of 2011. The bill seeks to extend federal employment discrimination protections that exist for certain special populations to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals. The action alert resulted in over 600 constituent messages sent to Members of Congress.
