Minority Fellowship Program’s Psychology Summer Institute Trainees Tackle Advocacy

Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) (center) with Psychology Summer Institute participants and APA staff In July, APA’s Public Interest Government Relations Office (PI-GRO) hosted an advocacy training and Capitol Hill day as part of the Minority Fellowship Program's (MFP) 2011 Psychology Summer Institute (PSI). The training provided an overview of the legislative process, effective communication with policymakers, and APA funding priorities relevant to MFP. Subsequent to the training, PSI participants engaged in advocacy on Capitol Hill.
