NHSC Loan Repayment Program Application

On November 22, 2010 the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) announced the opening of the FY 2011 Loan Repayment Program(LRP) Application cycle. The National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program recruits fully-trained primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists and behavioral and mental health providers to provide culturally competent, interdisciplinary primary health care services to underserved populations located in selected Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs)identified by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). In return, the NHSC LRP assists clinicians in their repayment of outstanding qualifying educational loans. The program is administered by the Bureau of Clinician Recruitment and Service(BCRS)in the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the Department of Health and Human Services. Applications must be submitted by May 26, 2011.
