Workforce Development
A critical shortage exists of qualified mental health professionals, as evidenced by the growing number of Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas nationwide. Workforce issues, in particular concerning psychologists, must be addressed to ensure that federal programs are cost effective and sufficient to meet the mental health care needs of underserved populations.
