APA recognized with award for its advocacy against the sexualization of girls
APA has been selected to receive a Power of A Silver Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its advocacy work against the sexualization of girls. The Power of A Silver Award is ASAEs second highest level of recognition for association programs that exemplify how the association industry and professionals are essential to a stronger America and world.
APA would like to congratulate Krysta Jones, Senior Legislative and Federal Affairs Officer, for her extraordinary work in coordinating the advocacy efforts of APA's Public Interest Government Relations Office (PI-GRO) in this area, including the Advocacy Against Sexualization Summit that PI-GRO hosted in April 2011. These efforts were possible due the continued dedication of the members of the APA Task Force on the Sexualization of Girls. Stefanie Reeves, Senior Legislative and Federal Affairs Officer in PI-GRO, who is an active leader in ASAE, helped to coordinate APA’s successful nomination.
