APA Goes to the Hill to Support Geriatric Training Programs
As part of its commitment to ensure an adequate geriatric work force, PI-GRO staff joined with the Elder Workforce Coalition to visit the staff of congressional members responsible for reconciling House and Senate budget proposals. These conference committee members must decide a general budget target for next year, and APA and its allies urged them to protect vital services for the elderly and related training programs. Advocates emphasized the need to continue funding for programs that train the full range of geriatric providers and that provide support to family caregivers.
