ACT Coordinators Train on Advocacy and Federal Policy
Group participates in discussion of relevant child and family policy
On Friday, May 2, 2014, Public Interest Government Relations Office (PI-GRO) staff spoke to over three dozen ACT Raising Safe Kids program coordinators from sites in the U.S. and overseas. The presentation covered the basics of advocacy, fundamentals of the legislative process, and tips for getting involved in advocacy at the federal, state and local levels. The discussion also addressed current legislative priorities, including Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting and Child Care Development Block Grant reauthorization.
Policies impacting children, youth and families represent a long-standing priority for APA. Please sign up for APA Federal Action Network alerts to support future efforts.
