The scientific community needs your help. Over the last year, there has been a steady increase in attacks on peer-reviewed research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Nearly half of all adults must manage at least one chronic health condition that affects their daily activities. These conditions, including diabetes, asthma, arthritis, obesity, depression and others, affect more than 90 million Americans now, and the numbers will climb as the population ages.
On March 18, the Consortium of Social Science Associations (COSSA), APA and the National Communication Association co-sponsored a briefing on Capitol Hill entitled "Detecting Deception: Research to Secure the Homeland" featuring three prominent social scientists discussing deception research from a variety of different perspectives.
