APA submits nominees for US Preventive Services Task Force

The task force is an independent panel of non-Federal experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine composed of primary care providers
On September 29, APA GRO staff responded to a request for nominations for the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), an independent panel of non-Federal experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine composed of primary care providers, that conducts scientific evidence reviews of a broad range of clinical preventive health care services and develops recommendations for primary care clinicians and health systems, published in the form of "Recommendation Statements.” The organization is supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality as part of its Prevention and Care Management Portfolio. New appointees are expected to begin their 4-year terms of service in March 2011.
