APA nominates psychologists for health advisory groups

Psychologists were nominated for Advisory bodies such as the US Preventive Services Task Force and the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics
Over the past month, GRO staff working in collaboration with APA’s Board of Scientific Affairs and others have nominated several psychologists for consideration to a variety of advisory bodies, including the US Preventive Services Task Force managed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics at the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Methodology Committee of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, a new entity authorized by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. the Healthcare Reform Bill). Science GRO staff appreciate the willingness of APA members to put their names forward for these important advisory groups to ensure that psychological and behavioral scientists are part of the candidate pool.
