NICHD Vision workshops begin

The nine workshops, including one on behavior and another on cognition, will be from January through March

At the January 20 meeting of the National Advisory Child Health and Human Development Council, the advisory board of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, Director Alan Guttmacher outlined the progress of NICHD’s Scientific Visioning Process. As we previously reported, NICHD has identified nine broad scientific themes and is organizing workshops to gather input and ideas from scientific experts and to articulate the emerging scientific opportunities in those areas over the next decade.

The nine workshops, which include one on behavior and another on cognition, are being held from January through March. External scientists have been tasked with chairing each workshop and organizations and the broader scientific community will be asked to comment on the white papers that are produced by each workshop. Additional information about the chairs of the workshops, agendas, and white papers, will be organized and posted on NICHD’s Vision Process website.
