Welcome to the new APA.org, the premier public communications vehicle of the American Psychological Association and your Web gateway to psychology. With a clean visual design and improved navigation, the site includes many improvements to help you find the APA news, information and resources you want more quickly and easily than ever.
More than 13 million visitors from 225 countries explore APA.org each year. This new site is designed to better serve you, our users, whether you are a practitioner, behavioral scientist, student, researcher, librarian, a member of the general public or the media. A few of the redesign’s highlights:
For APA members and affiliates, your main user ID and password will enable you to access most online services, rather than having to remember multiple logins. We’ve also redesigned MyAPA to provide you with a central location to access your APA assets. You can:
APA has also streamlined our e-commerce process with features that make shopping more convenient. You can track your orders, save your shopping cart for later purchases, save shipping and billing addresses, and save payment information.
New Sections
APA’s Psychology Help Center is now part of the APA site. It will continue to feature helpful articles and tips tied to current events, such as managing stress in tough economic times or controlling anger.
The customer support area offers helpful FAQs and answers. Browse the FAQ categories and subtopics for your answer, search the support center, or, if you can’t find what you’re looking for, submit your own question and APA’s customer service staff will help.
A new event calendar makes psychology-related conferences, meetings and workshops easy to find.
A careers section brings early career resources, professional development opportunities and job-related information together in one area. You can still search for jobs through PsycCareers, APA’s online career center.
In the education section, APA has compiled information on the education pipeline—from pre-college to postgraduate work. A link to APA’s Continuing Education section allows users to search for CE by topic and type.
The research section offers tips on getting research funding, research tools and methods, and information on conducting research and getting published.
We’ve also completely redesigned our sister site for psychology practitioners, now called Practice Central, to help practitioners find the latest advice on practice marketing, legislative and regulatory updates, reimbursement issues, and more.
Browse products, including books, journals, journal special issues, videos and children’s books in a more user-friendly manner. Options include viewing new releases, viewing bestsellers, sorting by author/editor, sorting by series, and more.
APA.org’s new search engine is more thorough and user-friendly. Search results can be narrowed by topic, document type, publication year and author/editor. The advanced search allows you to further refine your results.
Our new search engine also powers many new features on the site, including:
Media: A new press room makes news releases, policies and other APA resources easier to find.
Policymakers: A revamped Government Relations area allows policymakers and APA members to see APA positions and actions by issue, and clearly outlines the activities of APA’s three government relations offices.
