Regional Psychological Associations

Regional Psychological Associations enable psychologists and students to share knowledge, develop professional networks, and improve skills primarily through their local, annual conventions.

APA provides a number of activities of interest to regional associations, including issuing grants for science and education outreach projects and teaching conferences; providing staff liaisons and making presentations at regional meetings; and promoting the teaching of psychology through hosting and supporting special workshops and conferences. The Education and Science Directorate sponsor presentations by distinguished scientists and scholars in Psychology each year. Learn more about the APA Distinguished Scientist Lectures and the G. Stanley Hall/Harry Kirke Wolfe Lectures taking place at the meetings of regional associations.

Information and announcements about the regional associations appear regularly in the APA Monitor, American Psychologist, and newsletters of the Science and Education Directorates.
