The Carol Williams-Nickelson Award for Women’s Leadership and Scholarship in Women’s Issues
This award is designed to acknowledge women APAGS members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in psychology by serving in one or more leadership roles locally, regionally and/or nationally while also advancing women’s issues through their writing/publications, research, advocacy or other scholarly activities. Making Feminism Relevant 2008: Call for Applications
APAGS and Division 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women) are once again collaborating to “make feminism relevant” at the 2008 APA convention in Boston, MA. We are currently seeking students with a strong background and interest in feminist research and/or clinical practice to be part of a presentation on “Feminism through the ages.” Click here for more information.
Division 55 Patrick H. DeLeon Prize
Division 55 is pleased to offer the Patrick DeLeon Prize, in honor of former APA president Patrick H. DeLeon, PhD, JD, MPH. Awarded for an outstanding paper (published or unpublished) on psychopharmacology or prescriptive authority completed while the author was a graduate student or early career psychologist. The prize carries a cash award of $500.
Deadline for submissions for all awards is June 15, 2008. Please submit nominations, including papers, letters of nomination, and other attestation to Morgan T. Sammons, PhD, in electronic format only, via E-mail.

Mentorship of Students with Disabilities Award
The Committee on Disability Issues (CDIP) seeks nominations for
the annual Mentorship of Students with Disabilities Award.
Nominees will be psychologists who have provided exceptional
formal or informal mentoring to psychology students with disabilities.

Women Supporting Women: Mentoring Between APAGS and Eminent Psychologists
Initially shown as part of APAGS’ convention programming at the 2006 APA convention in New Orleans, this video presentation discusses the current and possible mentoring practices of women in psychology. With 75% of APAGS members being women, we are committed to addressing the unique needs and concerns of women students; namely, balance, self-care and mentoring.
