APAGS Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender Concerns (APAGS-CLGBTC)
CLGBTC
works to end heterosexism in graduate psychology programs. By examining incidents of homophobia and bias in graduate education and training environments, CLGBTC works to educate faculty, trainers and administration regarding the prevalence and danger of prejudice in psychology. CLGBTC facilitates communication among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender graduate students in psychology by providing forums to discuss common issues or difficulties. CLGBTC also helps to educate psychologists, faculty and students of the concerns and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students.

CLGBTC Mentoring Program
The American Psychological Association
of Graduate Students Committee on LGBT Concerns (APAGS-CLGBTC) is pleased
the 2009-2010 LGBT Mentoring Program for graduate students in psychology.
- Are you a graduate student or psychologist interested in LGBT issues?
- Have you been wondering where other psychologists are who share
your commitment for work with the LGBT community?
- Have you always wanted to take a student under your wing?
...then we have just the program for you!
The mentoring program is designed to provide an opportunity for LGBT
graduate students in psychology to be mentored by colleagues who share
similar interests, experiences, and goals. We are currently looking
for professionals within the field of psychology (e.g., practitioners,
researchers, professors) and advanced graduate students (i.e.
those with 3 years of graduate school experience in psychology) who
hold interests in LGBT issues to serve as mentors.
Application materials and program information for mentors
and mentees
are but a click away! To connect with someone about the program, please
feel free to contact
Troy Loker, APAGS-CLGBTC committee member, if you have further questions.
Deadline to sign up for the program is November 1, 2009.
