Presented by: Chair: Miguel E. Gallardo,

Josephine D. Johnson, PhD, Division of Independent Practitioners (42)
Nicole Ryan, MS (Discussant), Loyola College of Maryland
Division 42 and APAGS invite you to attend this pre-convention workshop
discussing practice issues relevant to students/early career psychologists. You
may be asking, "How can I emerge from graduate school, flourish as a new
psychologist and establish a healthy practice?" This program answers these
questions and much more. Presenters will discuss ways in which students can
continue to prepare themselves for graduation, transition from student to
professional, and meet the needs of the changing demographics throughout the
country. Presenters will discuss personal and professional experiences as they
relate to the creation of practice opportunities, meeting the needs of a diverse
population and the establishment of professional relationships. This program
focuses on helping students and early career psychologists identify ways in
which they can begin to build personal opportunities within their own areas of
interests.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.
Note: In addition to the
pre-convention program, Division 42 will host a “Student/Early Career
Breakfast: Mentoring, Networking and Building Practice Opportunities” for
students and early career psychologists everyday of the convention. We hope that
this will allow interested individuals an opportunity to ask additional
questions related to issues addressed in the pre-convention program, meet
governance members of the division, and best of all, get FREE breakfast!
Breakfast each morning will be held in the Division 42 suite from 8:00 – 11:00
a.m. Please check convention registration material for location.
Special Instructions: The $10
registration fee is payable at the door. Program includes handouts. For
additional information, please contact Miguel
Gallardo, PsyD.
