Frank Ouseley was the winner of the Insurance Trust Student Computer
Giveaway. Mr. Ouseley was among more than 600 students who stopped by the Trust exhibit
booth while attending the 1999 APA Convention in Boston.
Frank Graduated on December 4 with a PsyD from the Virginia campus of
the American School of Professional Psychology. His immediate plans are to obtain
post-doctoral hours required for licensure by performing individual and group therapy,
teach courses as an adjunct professor, and provide pro bono services at a homeless shelter
in Washington, DC. Perhaps what is most intriguing is that he already retired once. He
always had an interest in psychology, but he followed a different career path after
graduating with an MBA in 1965. He took early retirement from the federal government in
1993 and went back to school to get a degree in psychology.
Now that Mr. Ouseley has graduated and is ready for a career in
psychology, he knows that the purchase of a comprehensive professional liability policy is
not a matter to be taken lightly. In fact, he recently applied for the Trusts
Professional Liability Plan and took advantage of the New Graduate Discount. Even before
graduating, though, a psychology student like Mr. Ouseley faces daily risks of malpractice
and professional negligence. By purchasing a policy in addition to the one offered by the
institution of study, that student can be protected while participating in activities like
practicums and internships.
As a student, it is important that you learn about professional
liability lawsuits, but not the hard way by providing psychological services
without protection. At $17-35 per year, Trust Student Liability coverage is readily
available. For more information about student liability insurance, call (800) 477-1200, or
