Making Feminism Relevant 2007

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Making Feminism Relevant 2008

APAGS and Division 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women) are once again collaborating to “make feminism relevant” at the 2008 APA convention in Boston, MA. We are currently seeking students with a strong background and interest in feminist research and/or clinical practice to be part of a presentation on “Feminism through the ages.” Three selected students and two established invited feminist psychologists will each be invited to speak for about 8 minutes on what feminism means to them, followed by a discussion on how feminism has changed over time and where it is headed in the future. The three selected students will also have their pieces on feminism published in Division 35’s quarterly newsletter “The Feminist Psychologist,” and will each be given a $100 stipend for their participation. Additional selected student pieces will be printed on the APAGS website.

We cannot make this project happen without YOUR assistance. If you are interested in participating please send an email here, with the following materials:

  1. Abbreviated CV (1-2 pages, be sure to include relevant feminist activities)

  2. Two hundred and fifty (250) word essay on what feminism means to YOU.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: MAY 15TH 2008
