Join APAGS
For graduate students in psychology, becoming a Student Affiliate of APA automatically enrolls you as a member of APAGS. Undergraduates may join APAGS for a small fee. APAGS offers all its members enormous opportunities to enhance their development towards a career in psychology and to shape the future of the discipline. From at home access to research tools like PsycINFO, to opportunities to present your work at APA's annual conventions, membership in APA/APAGS will help you succeed in graduate school and develop as a member of the psychological community.
You can join APAGS at any time. Joining APA and APAGS entitles you to a plethora of benefits that will aid your training in psychology. Here are just a few:
Subscriptions to American Psychologist, Monitor on Psychology, and the APAGS Magazine, gradPSYCH
A $10.00 credit, on top of student discounts, for subscriptions to APA Journals such as the Journal of Counseling Psychology, Health Psychology, and the Clinician's Research Digest
The right to purchase access to APA's Online databases like PsycINFO (nonmembers of APA cannot purchase access to the databases at any price!)
Listservs targeted to student interests.
Internship and career resources such as the comprehensive APAGS Internship Workbook, Internship Listserv, and PsycCAREERS.
Information resources created by and for students such as the APAGS Resource Guide for Ethnic Minority Students, Succeeding in Practicum, and the Resource Guide for Psychology Graduate Students with Disabilities, among others.
Access to Professional Liability Insurance for Graduate Students in Psychology from the APA Insurance Trust
Eligibility for the numerous scholarships, grants, and awards, funded by APAGS.
And this list is by no means exhaustive. APAGS also gives you a voice in APA through the APAGS Committee and the opportunity to develop you own professional skills by running for APAGS elected office and serving on the APAGS Committee and/or an APAGS sub-committee, chairing programs at the APA Convention, writing articles for the APAGS Web site.
Graduate students
When you join APA as a Student Affiliate you automatically become a member of APAGS.
Undergradute students
By paying an additional $24.00 in addition to your Student Affiliate fee, you may become a member of APAGS.
