The Rosen Early Career Grant promotes early career psychologists whose work centers on the psychological understanding of gifted and talented children and adolescents.
Advance the understanding of gifted children for the ultimate purpose of enabling and enhancing development of their talents.
Encourage promising early career psychologists to continue research in this area.
Funding Specifics
One research grant up to $50,000.
APF's Policy
The entire grant must be provided to the individual grantee for the stated purpose. The grant may not be used to pay institutional indirect costs or overhead. Applicants can use grant monies for stipend support and for other administrative costs (software, materials, etc.) If funds will be administered by the grantee's institution, the institution must affirm in writing that it will waive all administrative fees and charges for indirect costs. This assurance may be provided through the signature of a responsible official. This assurance must be received before the funds can be released.
Psychologist with an EdD, PsyD or PhD from an accredited university.
No more than seven years postdoctoral.

Applicant's demonstrated competence and capability to execute the proposed work.
Proposal Requirements
Detailed proposal that makes a case for the need to be addressed; describes the proposed project, methodology and the applicant's qualifications; and includes a detailed budget and justification.
- Format: not to exceed seven pages (1 inch margins, no smaller than 11 point font); one paragraph abstract.
Appropriate use of assessment is encouraged.
