Visionary Funds Grant Application Guidelines

APF focuses its grantmaking in the following three priority areas:

  • Finding connections between mental and physical health to ensure well-being;
  • Understanding and preventing violence and prejudice to create a safer, more humane world; and
  • Supporting the sustained rebuilding of communities in the aftermath of disaster

Amount:
One-cycle grants: up to$5,000 for one year.
Multi-cycle grants: up to $5,000 per year for a maximum of three years.

Deadlines:
One-Cycle: March 15, July 1, October 1, and December 1.
Multi-Cycle: September 1

Eligibility: Applicants must be educational institutions, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or affiliated with such organizations.

APF will NOT consider the following requests:

  • Grants for political or lobbying purposes
  • Grants for entertainment or fundraising expenses
  • Grants for projects with no relation to psychology
  • Grants to anyone the Internal Revenue Service would regard as a disqualified group or individual
  • Grants to members of the APF Board of Trustees and APA Board of Directors

APF encourages applications and proposals from and nominations for individuals that represent diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, age, and sexual orientation in its scholarships, grants, and awards programs.
