This APAIT CD-ROM instructional series focuses on preparing psychologists for the world of practice from an ethical and risk-management perspective. Five modules, each containing a related examination, consist of introductory material on individual topic areas (see module descriptions below). Case incidents are real life moments in a psychologist's practice where the psychologist makes decisions to act or not act in certain ways. The ethics and risk management implications are presented. The material presented on these CD-ROMS provide information that will enable you to pass the examination included in the CD-ROM. Successful completion of any two examinations will earn 6 CE credits and a 10% premium reduction for one year on your Trust-sponsored professional liability insurance. Developed by the APA Insurance Trust
Modules I, II, III, IV, and V are sold separately. You must purchase the test to receive credit. Each exam is worth 3 CE credits. You must successfully pass each exam with a 75% or higher score.
CD-ROM Module One alerts the psychologist to a series of ethical and legal pitfalls that can occur in clinical practice. Otherwise competent psychologists who do not discern the ethical/legal implications of a given clinical intervention may harm patients and subsequently feel great distress themselves. Conversely, psychologists who are attuned to the legal/ethical implications of their professional work are better able to fulfill their professional obligations and can practice with greater peace of mind. This module educates and raises the awareness to these important issues. CLICK HERE: IMPORTANT!
