Do I have to purchase the program(s)?

YES! You must purchase the CDROM in order to complete the tests and to earn CE credit upon successful completion.

How do I access the online test?

1. Go to http://www.apa.org/ce/apait.html.
2. Each exam is listed under the above link. Find the exam you are ready to take and click on the ‘Take Test Online’ link.
3. An information page will appear; click on ‘Take the Test’ (bottom of page)
4. You will be brought to the LOGIN REQUIRED PAGE
5. You MUST complete the registration form if this is the FIRST TIME accessing any CDROM test. Enter the information required under REGISTER (New to the site…)
6. Fill in ALL FIELDS whether required or not (make sure you enter your email address correctly)
7. PASSWORD FIELD: CREATE YOUR OWN PASSWORD. NOTE: We can not reset passwords so please create a password that you will remember or write down your password in a secure place.
8. Click REGISTER
9. You will then see at the top of the page "Welcome back (your name will be displayed)", information about the test, and "Start Test" button.
10. Click on "Start Test" button
11. The tests will be displayed. Good Luck!

What is the "Save Your Place" option?

"Save your place" option: The test does not have to be completed in one sitting, i.e., it can be started, saved, and returned to later. We strongly suggest saving your place frequently. Due to accuracy concerns, the system will erase any unsaved answers if you log out and after a 2-hour period.

How to retrieve your test if you chose the "Save Your Place" option?

To retrieve your test:


1. Go to the main APA Continuing Education in Psychology web site at www.apa.org/ce
2. To the left of the screen you will see a log in box. Enter your email address and password you created when registering. Click go and you will be taken to "Your Testing History" page. Click on "Finish Attempt" to continue the tests.

When will I receive my certificate?

The CEP Office will issue certificates upon receipt of the email notification of your examination results. You will receive your certificate within 15 business days upon successful completion (75% or higher).
