Evidence-Based Behavioral Practice Programs
The transdisciplinary Council for Training in Evidence-Based Behavioral Practice consists of representatives from the fields of psychology, medicine, nursing, social work, public health, and library science. Chaired by Bonnie Spring, Ph.D., the Council is comprised of Ross Brownson, Ph.D., Edward Mullen, D.S.W., Robin Newhouse, Ph.D., R.N., Jason Satterfield, Ph.D., and Evelyn Whitlock, M.D., M.P.H. With input from a Scientific Advisory Board, including Gordon Guyatt, M.D., David Barlow, Ph.D., Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., Myrna Weissman, MSW, Ph.D., Steven Teutsch, Ph.D., and Ann McKibbon MLS, Ph.D., the Council implements objectives of the EBBP.org project. Aims are: 1) to create learning resources for researchers, evidence synthesizers and practitioners who participate in the movement toward evidence-based psychosocial interventions; 2) build the evidence base for behavioral and psychosocial treatments; and 3) create decision support tools that upgrade evidence-based behavioral practice. The interdisciplinary Council for Training in Evidence-Based Behavioral Practice (EBBP) has developed online learning tools to help practitioners and students integrate research and practice in real-world conditions. This interactive online training module, entitled The Evidence-Based Behavioral Practice (EBBP) Process, aims to enhance the skills of behavioral interventionists from a variety of health disciplines to find, appraise, and apply evidence to improve the health of individuals, communities, and populations. NEW! Module Two: Search for Evidence
The endorsement of evidence-based practice policy by all major health professions creates new challenges for educators and practitioners. The interdisciplinary Council for Training in Evidence-Based Behavioral Practice (EBBP) has developed online learning tools to help practitioners and students integrate research and practice in real-world conditions. This online training module, entitled Searching for Evidence, introduces available on-line evidence resources and allows behavioral and social science professionals to develop skills to more effectively search for evidence.
