PsycCareers LIVE and Employer Exhibit Booths
As a convention attendee, you can connect with prospective employers prior to, during and after the convention through PsycCareers LIVE, a virtual and on-site job fair which will be active on PsycCareers from June 1-Aug. 31, 2013.
You can sign up for PsycCareers LIVE once you log into or register for an online account at PsycCareers any time after June 1. There will be a check box on your account homepage where you can flag your profile/resume as being associated with the Job Fair. That way employers can easily identify you as a job seeker who will be on-site at convention when they do a resume search for Job Fair Participants. Similarly, employers who will be staffing an employer booth in the exhibit hall or present as attendees will be able to designate their position opening as being part of PsycCareers LIVE, making their jobs come up when you narrow your job search to Job Fair Postings only (just look for the Job Fair check-box on the Job Search page).
All interview scheduling and communication between employers and job seekers will take place outside the PsycCareers LIVE system using information you will find in the Job Fair Postings as well as what you choose to share on your resume. The system will also allow both parties to keep their personal emails hidden, if desired. When you click “Apply for this Job”, you can initiate an email to the employer without seeing their address or you may be directed to their website’s online application to get the process started. Likewise, if you choose not to share your email on your resume, an employer can initiate contact through the system without seeing your actual email address. From there, it’s up to both parties to agree to any possible further contact or interviews.
When you arrive at convention, you will be able to meet with representatives in the employer booths located in a special section of the exhibit hall as well as browse jobs, access career resources and experience hands-on demonstrations at the PsycCareers kiosk (Booth #123).
Make sure to create or update your profile/resume at PsycCareers today to get ready for the Job Fair! You will be able to flag yourself as being a Job Fair Participant as early as June 1, 2013.
