Description
This workshop is part of Dr. Donald Bersoff's Presidential Programming.
Microaggressions have been shown to trigger breakdowns in communication, which can lead to impasses in psychotherapy and disrupted learning in the classroom. This introductory workshop introduces microaggressions, their consequences, and how they present in clinical and educational settings and presents practical skills for facilitating microaggressive encounters. The dynamics and theory of microaggressions and audiovisual examples will be presented. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in practical application of facilitation skills to address microaggressions throughout the workshop.
