In this advanced workshop, the presenters discuss the WISC-V, the most widely used intellectual ability test for children and adolescents. Interpretation of the test substantially impacts the practice of clinical psychology, school psychology, and neuropsychology. Several new tools and applications unfamiliar to most practitioners are emerging to assist in WISC-V interpretation. New clinical studies conducted with the WISC-V on Q-interactive inform interpretation of the digital version when working with special populations. The workshop guides practitioners in interpreting score discrepancies within clinical profiles.
Learning Objectives
1. Comprehend new tools and applications available to assist in WISC-V interpretation.
2. Comprehend the impact of digital format administration on interpretation of the WISC-V with special populations.
3. Administer and interpret new WISC-V digital processing speed subtests.
4.Comprehend the process approach to interpretation of WISC-V results, as applied with the WISC-V Integrated, and how the process approach can inform an understanding of unusual profiles.
5. Select a targeted set of subtests from the WISC-V and the WISC-V Integrated to understand a child’s cognitive abilities, processes, and performance and answer specific referral questions.
6. Comprehend the impact of multivariate base rates and variability on interpretation of discrepancies among WISC-V scores.
7. Utilize WISC-V and WISC-V Integrated contrast scores to understand variability in WISC-V performance.
