APA Convention Sponsorships

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reports that 76 percent of trade show attendees leave home already having decided which booths they want to visit, yet less than 20 percent of exhibitors actually conduct some form of preshow promotion. Take advantage of the sponsorship opportunities below that APA offers to ensure you are on their “must visit” list.
Each sponsorship opportunity includes recognition as an APA convention sponsor on the home page of the APA convention website, in general on-site signage and at the front of the APA Convention Program. Sponsorships valued at $15,000 and above also include discounts on print advertising.

The APA convention mobile app provides convention attendees with convention information and allows them to engage before, during, and for a year after the meeting ends. The convention app will be launched in early June 2012. It makes it easy to follow product launches, receive updates and view interactive content relevant to psychology. The convention app features include: a complete listing of sessions and speakers; a customizable convention schedule/personal itinerary; an interactive exhibitor list; the ability to search for exhibitors and products; an interactive exhibit floor plan; real-time convention alerts via text messaging; social media interaction with live Twitter feeds from anyone using the convention hashtag, plus more!
New for 2012: Net Lounge — (Exclusive Sponsor) $30,000
This exclusive sponsorship provides free WiFi access for attendees who bring their own laptops, iPads, etc., (e.g. email, web, Facebook, etc.) while attending the APA Annual Convention. The electronic savvy attendee will be delighted to see free charging kiosks to charge up the batteries of their dying cell phones, laptops, iPads, etc, Each charging kiosk will charge multiple devices simultaneously. The charging components are ADA-compliant with each charging station having an accessible area to those in a wheelchair. Convention attendees will notice the sponsor signage on the kiosk itself as well as on an easel.
City Guide and Exhibit Hall Map —

Ray’s Race 5K Run and Walk —
(Co-Sponsor) $1,000
Running Psychologists, a section of Division 47 (Exercise and Sport Psychology) is calling for sponsors for the 2012 34th annual Ray’s Race 5K Run and Walk, to be held at the APA convention in Orlando on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. Ray’s Race was named in honor of Dr. Raymond Fowler, former APA CEO and founder of the Running Psychologists in 1979. They will be encouraging runners and walkers of all ages and levels of ability to participate in the race, and expect a big turnout. Sponsorship includes:
Name and logo of sponsor will be printed on the back of the race t-shirt
Sponsor/s will be listed prominently on the race registration forms, which will be distributed to all attendees at the APA convention, included in Division 47 newsletter, sent to all previous race participants via email, and displayed in online registration with Active.com

Sponsorship Policies and Procedures
Sponsorships are only available to APA convention exhibitors and vendors.
All sponsorships are available to all exhibitors; however, a company that sponsors an APA convention activity will have the first right of refusal the following year on that same sponsorship opportunity.
Sponsorships will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If multiple applications are received on the same day, a drawing will be held to determine the “winner.”
The balance of the sponsorship fee must be received by May 3, 2012.
Sponsors must comply with all relevant policies concerning advertising and exhibiting with the American Psychological Association.
