Hotels for persons with disabilities

To facilitate hotel reservations for those who need wheelchair accessibility and visual or hearing aids, the Board of Convention Affairs has compiled information on the headquarters hotels. It is strongly suggested that persons who are in need of wheelchair-accessible accommodations request housing at one of the following hotels. Additional information regarding accessibility of supplemental hotels and a detailed report on accessibility of headquarters facilities may be obtained from the APA Convention Office in Washington, D.C.

Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel

Main entrance: Accessible; doorperson on duty.

Public restrooms: Accessible.

Braille signage: Braille signage on sleeping room and meeting signs.

Sleeping rooms: Fifty-six rooms are designed for wheelchair accessibility; 16 with roll-in showers.

Meeting rooms: Accessible.

Restaurants: Accessible.

Aids: Hearing equipment kits and TDDs are available upon request. Shower and bath benches available upon request.


Sheraton Boston Hotel

Main entrance: Accessible; doorperson on duty.

Restrooms: Accessible.

Signage: Braille signage on sleeping rooms and meeting rooms with exception of Back Bay Ballroom.

Sleeping rooms: Forty-five rooms are designed for wheelchair accessibility; 24 with a roll-in shower.

Meeting rooms: Accessible.

Restaurants: Accessible.

Aids: Hearing equipment kits and TDDs are available upon request. Shower benches available upon request.


Westin Copley Place Boston Hotel

Main entrance: Accessible; doorperson on duty.

Restrooms: Accessible.

Signage: Grade I Braille signage is used.

Sleeping rooms: Fifty-six rooms are designed for wheelchair accessibility; 6 with roll-in shower.

Meeting rooms: Accessible.

Restaurants: Accessible with exception of Turner Fisheries.

Aids: Eight TTY and signal device kits are available upon request.


Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel

Main entrance: Accessible; doorperson on duty.

Restrooms: Accessible

Signage: Braille signage is used.

Sleeping rooms: Thirty-eight rooms are designed for wheelchair accessibility, 20 of which have tubs; no roll-in showers.

Meeting rooms: Accessible.

Restaurants: Accessible.

Aids: Hearing equipment kits and TDDs are available upon request.

The above headquarters hotels are rank ordered for access with (1) being the most accessible as follows: ( 1) Boston Marriott Copley Place, (2) Sheraton Boston Hotel, (3) Westin Copley Place Boston Hotel. Ranking for the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel is dependent on correction of new construction errors; roll-in showers are not available at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel.

Rooms designed for wheelchair accessibility are also available at all of the APA supplemental hotels with the exception of the MidTown Hotel.

PA secured the services of Eastlake, Derry & Associates, LLC, to conduct a roll-through of all convention headquarters facilities and produce a written report on accessibility and ADA compliance. Request a copy of this report by contacting the Convention office.
